Nikon D90 vs Nikon D5100

You can get a D90 body for only 36k or with a 18-105 kit for 47k... that is already available.

Obviously if you like to shoot on lowlight more often or probably capturing videos more than shooting photos then probably D5100 would be ideal for you.

Yet it is fact that D90 still have acceptable high ISO capabilities and video quality. D90 already gained one of the greatest reputation and well respected camera for about 4 years.

If you are a beginner, try not to fall or waste your money into some better sensor marketing ads but rather try to hold the camera yourself, feel the body and weight, check if the functions/buttons has better access through your fingers, check the viewfinder... then try another camera and compare! I'll bet you'll fall in love with the D90's sexier body.

D90 in my opinion is probably better investment, why? because of better 'pro' feature:
- larger and brighter viewfinder
- better view coverage
- better manual settings
- better build quality and ergonomics
- longer battery life
- built-in AF motor
- supports battery grip by Nikon
- Creative Lighting System (thanks logbi77, I completely forgot!)

I already sold my D60 body (same as D5100) and it was my first DSLR and used it for 2 years but after using D90 in just few minutes, I already told myself I will never go back to D60-level bodies again... that was an easy decision for me.

If you want the best of both worlds? You should check out D7000! I have posted an article regarding D7000 vs D90 as well. If you are intrigued just go here :)

I'm only stating the fact and by experience as well. In the end it's still your money and your choice, goodluck!
